Title:  Santa Barbara Trip
Date: 9/28/2015
Notes:
Just took a trip down to Santa Barbara. Tasted at Pali, RiverBench, Kunin and Municipal. All great wineries. But Pali has the added combination of great Pinots with reasonable (24$) prices!! We love these guys!
Title:  Oak Stone
Date: 9/28/2015
Notes:
A few years back Oak Stone suffered a huge loss when a fire destroyed their winery. Well, they are back and their wines are really amazing. We did not try a single wine we did not like. Their barbera was a real stand-out.
Title:  Holly`s Hill - A Revelation
Date: 12/1/2013
Notes:
We hit Holly`s Hill this weekend. Tucked up in El Dorado county, it takes a bit a driving to get there, but boy-howdy was it worth it!! Their Rhone style wines are amazing, delicous and priced beautifully. We were impressed with all their offerings. Check out their Petite Patriarche. And they they have a single varietal Counoise that was out of this world. That is not a varietal you run into everyday in California.
Title:  2012 Siduri Sonoma County Pinot Noir
Date: 10/13/2013
Notes:
This is a great wine for 17.99 a bottle at Total Wine. A nice blend of Sonoma County wines. 90 pts. Buy 6 bottles as the price is 16.19.
Title:  Meiomi Pinot Noir
Date: 9/10/2012
Notes:
Belle Glos Wines has done it again. This 2011 Meiomi is amazing for 16.99 a bottle! We loved it. It is inky for a pinot, has a lovely, spicy nose and a lovely mouth filling set of flavors. I`ll be buying this by the case.
Title:  Amador Cellars 2010 Syrah
Date: 9/8/2012
Notes:
We opened our first bottle of 2010 Amador Cellars Syrah a few days ago. It smelled as though I was breathing the heady air of a gorgeous Napa Pinot Noir, not a Shenandoah Valley Syrah. This wine was amazing from first sip to last. I am starting to think that one case is not enough!
Title:  Cooper Vineyards
Date: 9/7/2012
Notes:
We went up to Cooper Vineyards two weekends ago and were treated like royalty. They are one of the most friendly pouring rooms around. And the wines are fabulous! Most are in the 20-27 dollar range and all well worth the price. Check out their Alacante Bouschet!!
Title:  Todd Taylor
Date: 11/30/2008
Notes:
Cannot say enough good things about Todd Taylor`s wines. He makes amazing wine. More than that, he makes wines that he wants to drink. He makes wine for himself. He knows what he likes in a wine and therefore, his wines are fabulous. Check out his Clockspring Vineyard Zin or his clone 337 Cab. Lovely wines. Prices a bit higher than most local wines, but well worth it.
Title:  Sobon Old Vines
Date: 11/30/2008
Notes:
It is no surprise that we love Sobon wines. We have been tasting everything they have put out for many years. But the 2006 releases were not our favorite. However, we just tasted the 2007 old vines zinfandel. Wow!! If this wine is any indication of what is in store with the rest of the 2007 releases, we are in for a treat. The old vines zin is lovely wine. It is crammed full of pepper and spice and has a full palette of flavors. 10.99 a bottle and just top notch!
Title:  Amazing Syrahs
Date: 9/28/2008
Notes:
We have been trying alot of Syrahs lately. Our criteria for our selections is that the wine must have been scored a 90 or higher by another reviewer or have received a gold medal or double gold at a wine competition recently. See our latest ratings for Syrah. We haven`t tried a bad one yet, but we have tried several in the 15 dollar range that were amazing.
